Retour au calme et rituels de transition : les brain breaks
Dans le cadre du
proposé par Sage, je fais remonter cet article (originalement publié le 07/11/2011) qui regroupe des petits rituels rigolos à mettre en place pour ramener son petit monde au travail. Pour découvrir les articles des autres bloggueurs cliquez -là : 
Les capacités d’attention et de concentration de mes élèves étant plutôt faibles, il est important de varier les tâches proposées et d’aménager des moments de transition entre elles. Un peu comme dans un morceau de musique, ces pauses aident à matérialiser le passage d’une activité à l’autre, à repérer que l’on change de domaine de travail ou d’organisation, et donc à structurer le temps, à catégoriser les apprentissages.
En Clis, on peut avoir recours sans hésiter aux stratagèmes souvent utilisés en maternelle.Voici deux petits trucs rapportés des Etats-Unis :
1-Lors des temps où la parole circule, pour ne pas dire chut à tout bout de champ, j’utilise un code visuel (un V de la victoire, ne me demandez pas pourquoi…) pour signifier mon mécontentement à l’enfant ou au groupe d’enfants qui bavarde. J’évite ainsi d’interrompre celui qui a effectivement la parole.
2-Le « Donne moi 5 » (le « give me five » anglais sonne beaucoup mieux…) : quand je veux la plus grande attention du groupe je dis bien fort « donne-moi 5 ! » en montrant ma main. Ils savent que cela veut dire que j’ai besoin qu’ils mettent en route les 5 « moteurs » de l’attention : arrêter toute activité en cours, me regarder, écouter, se taire, ne pas bouger. Mes élèves aiment beaucoup, je l’utilise cependant avec parcimonie pour que cela reste efficace. J'ai dans ma besace d'autres pistes que je vous propose dans ce tableau. Après une longue activité collective
-Etirements, bâillements.
-Enroulés d’épaule…
-Auto-massage de la tête : pour se remettre le cerveau en route…
Se préparer à être attentif
Avant les activités langagières
-Auto-massage des joues, des yeux, des oreilles : on va faire un travail lors duquel vous devrez bien écouter/regarder/articuler, alors préparez vos oreilles/yeux/mâchoires…
Lors des activités à leur table
-Faire le plus d’espace possible sur le pupitre
-Ne leur faire sortir que le nécessaire
-Ne distribuer le travail ou le matériel que si rien ne gêne dans l’espace de travail
-Ne pas donner de consignes tant que les élèves ont quelquechose dans la main…
Préparer ses « outils »
Avant les activités d’écriture
-Echauffement des doigts et des poignets
-Avec les plus jeunes : jeux de doigts
Accélérer le rangement
Après le temps d’atelier
-Compter jusqu'à 10 : à 10 tout le monde sera à sa table !
-Mettre une chanson : à la fin de la chanson tout doit être rangé !
Obtenir et conserver le calme
Après des déplacements
-Le bâton de pluie : je demande à un élève de venir le retourner le plus lentement possible
A la fin d’une séance d’EPS
-Faire le silence et écouter les bruits extérieurs : je demande ensuite à 1 seul élève de me dire 1 chose qu’il a entendue
-« Qui m’appelle ? »: jeu classique où un élève se met dos au groupe, et où un autre doit dire son nom en chuchotant et il doit essayer de deviner de qui il s’agit
Reformer le groupe
Jeu décroché, parfois après un temps de travail en groupe, pour ressouder la classe
Un jeu sans grand intérêt pédagogique, les élèves l’aiment beaucoup et font le silence très vite pour pouvoir y jouer !
-Choisir 3 élèves, les serpents
-Les autres sont les souris qui dorment (ils mettent la tête dans les bras et ferment les yeux) et lèvent un pouce.
-Les serpents vont chacun toucher une souris (en serrant leur pouce levé)
-Ceux qui se sont fait toucher doivent baisser leur pouce
-Tout le monde ouvre les yeux et ceux qui ont été touchés essayent de deviner par qui
Entrainer l’attention sélective / Contrôler ses gestes / Anticiper les réactions de l’autreJeu décroché classique, souvent juste avant la cantine ou juste avant une recréation
Ce jeu apporte silence et calme très rapidement
-Faire sortir un élève, donner des claves ou tout autre objet sonore à un élève reste en classe
-L’élève fait sonner les claves sous son bureau
-L’élève qui est sorti revient et doit, sans se déplacer, trouver qui est le « musicien »
Entrainer sa mémoire, le repérage dans l’espace et la logiqueJeu décroché, souvent juste avant la cantine ou juste avant une recréation
Le jeu favori de mes zozos, et le mien aussi !
-Faire sortir un élève
-Envoyer un autre se cacher dans la salle d’à coté
-Faire revenir le zozo qui était sorti et lui demander : « qui a disparu ? »
-Pour complexifier, avant de le faire revenir demander aux autres de changer de place

J'ajoute un truc qui m'aide de temps en temps: quand décidément les élèves n'en peuvent plus, je les fait tous lever derrière leur chaise, et nous faisons quelques gestes très dynamiques et rigolos. Exemples: faire trois tours et demi à cloche pied, sauter en levant les bras... Ca dure très peu de temps, tout le monde rit un bon coup et nous pouvons nous reprendre le travail dans une atmosphère apaisée.
Merci pour ces idées! Je trouve que beaucoup sont très adaptées pour les enfants kinesthésiques.
c'est justement le but de ces activités : bouger , faire autre chose pour décompresser et etre pret à aborder une autre activité
il ne s'agit pas de clouer les enfants sur place comme vous semblez le laisser entendre
et ca n'a rien à voir avec la pédagogie différenciée qui elle, se fait lors des apprentissages

je suis un peu perplexe, car étant donné que je suis une personne kinéesthésique ( VAK)et émotionnel ( gestion mentale), je suis vite revenu à mes frustrations quand j'étais élève, ou est donc la pédagogie différenciée, ou est le respect de l'enfant dans sa différenciation physique,psychologique, rytmes, intelligences.....on avance ou on retourne à l'ancienne pédagie, les enfants d'aujourd'hui ont besoin de même stratégies d'avant?
Je suis encore d'autres formations poussées en ce moment et je suis contente que les formateurs me laisse bouger sur ma chaise, bouger mes mains autant de fois que je veux, me laisse marcher pendant le cour......sans stéréotype, ou rituel.
un auditif n'a pas besoin de regarder le prof au contraire.
